    Dow2 only set to low settings..

    i have found another game that kinda has a lil issue with a i5 r2, i installed DOw2, and since all it can see is the intel HD, it locks the settings so i i cannot set them to high it seems,

    some guy on the steam forums suggested editing the INI which i did but it doesnt seem to want to work. has anyone else got htis running on higher settings?

    This a known issue, for some reason Optimus and DOW 2 do not play nice together. Relic and Nvidia both know of the problem, though I have no idea if they plan on doing anything about it. Relic says it is purely an Nvidia issue, while as far as I know Nvidia hasn`t officially said anything about it.

    thx, checked out on google for nvidia optimus issue, rather than me thinking it was something else i found this nugget of info, its supposed to be out tomorrow....

    Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising

    * Fixed an issue with graphics device capability detection for NVIDIA Optimus-based notebooks

    * Fixed an issue with incorrect text on Tier 3 upgrade for some races

    * In-game voice chat will no longer randomly crash the game while using the most recent Games for Windows LIVE release.

    Nice find, I actually uninstalled DOW 2 because this was annoying me so much. Well that an it randomly crashed on me that one time...

    steam did a mini download and it seems to have been patched to 2.6.5628, i have everything on high now :d spread the word !!!

    yup. consistently getting an avg 34-35fps with the benchmark tool (min:16 max:70) on the default high settings at native rez. finally.
