hey all - just curious if anyone played the demo. it worked phenomenally well but i could only run it on dx9 at Medium (sigh).
i couldnt go to high settings cause it needed DX 10 or higher, but i couldnt even select DX10 as an option.
i believe our 335m does NOT go to dx11, but i thought dx10 worked, just wasnt given the option.
Thanks, any help is appreciated!

I was able to go to high on dx9 - if I went to ultra-high, it just set it back to high again.
-
what drivers u using?
im on 260.99 -
Whatever the dell hybrid drivers are. R1.
-
anyone on an r2 having luck? -
Run it with the Nvidia card, to have the chance to select high with DX9
-
i run full nvidia all the time.
ill add it to the whitelist.
i was DEF getting great FPS, and it ran smooth as heck, i cant imagine that was on integrated -
I Cant believe there wasnt more folks who tried the demo?
-
since my ISP has it mirrored i'll download it from there and give it a try on my R2 + 260.99 drivers

Not to be a "hater" I dont know if many folks realize the demo is out... And for those of us who are true RPG fans DAO and DAO2 feels more like a Choose your own adventure book rather than a quality RPG. (This is just my opinion)...
-
i play all sorts of RPGs, DAO was def entertaining. Dragon age 2 looks more 'action'-y, but still fun..... -
The demo blows. They locked out a ton of things because they didn't want their audience to be confused. Not even joking.
That, and it's an old build anyway. -
curious - for a demo did u expect a full build?
it was ok, mainly confirmed that it runs fine on the M11x.
did u run it on high/very high with a m11xr2? -
I think DX10 is disabled for the demo I'm not sure on this though. I am running 266.58 drivers, can anyone confirm this with another driver?
-
Just tried it and it runs like absolute at medium, native, dx9.
What gives? Nothing hogging CPU in background. Getting like 10fps max.
*edit*
Weird. Optimus wasn't detecting it, so it was staying in onboard graphics. Had to manually set it to recognize the game. Runs fine now.
Boring demo though -
Check my posted thread.

Apparently its an issue with the demo itself. -
-
Just played it on the R2, was very smooth on medium settings (didn't allow me to go any higher).
The demo was pretty boring though, just fight waves and waves of enemies and a few orges here and there. However, i'm loving the new skills! They're pretty flashy and fun to use, especially the rogues skills. -

Thought I read on the BioWare social forums (thread is gone now) that the build is months old; but was still entertaining.
They had to highlight the combat, since one of their goals was to immerse you more as the heroic archetype. Not just a group of warriors, but YOU leading the group.
I enjoyed it, I know people complained about Mass Effect 2 - but ME2 is now recognized as one of the greatest games since like...Super Mario Jesus or something. -
So how does it run on the m11x? I'm considering getting the game on XBOX 360... but if the m11x runs it well...

One has to take what they can in the current state of RPG's, my personal favorite being that the best morality system in a game that I've played in recent years was...DOW II Chaos Rising. Yep, a strategy game had an original and well thought out morality system. Congratulations RPG developers, I am in awe of your skills.

Ok, I misled here - I can go high in the launcher options, but stuck with medium in game. I never even looked at the in game options...
-
Okay
Remember when you set the renderer to DX 11
the graphic detail setting determines which DX on your gfx card capabilities to be used......
High settings is for DX 10 capable cards
VERY high is ONLY for DX 11 cards
Dragon Age 2 Demo - no dx10?
