I really need to emulate a middle mouse button. Does anyone know how to do it?

I have read two different methods for the Synaptics touchpad driver, sorry I am not at my M11x right now to test it out.

click both buttons at the same time

    or

    Shift + Left click

I bet if you poked around in the touch pad driver settings a bit you could find how to do it. Good luck!

I am on m11x, chrome newest build. Shift+left click is open link in new window, ctrl+left click is open link in new tab.

I am just trying to figure out how to hit both left and right click to emulate middle click. its annoying because my dell inspiron 1318 can do it...

Ah, I made a registry key (DWORD). I have to press both buttons, but at the exact time so it can fail on me in games :( .

If you install the latest driver from the Synaptics site, there is, buried deep in the Properties dialog box, options to set the four corners of the trackpad to specific actions - one of which is middle click.

Chemware, do you mind providing more details? I really want that middle click. haha thanks.

I go to Properties for Synaptics TouchPad V7.2 on Ps/2 port..

there are multifinger gestures, 2 finger scrolling pin zoom, rotating, three finger flick, scrolling, tapping, and buttons. i dont see any 4 corners of trackpad to specific actions options. :(
