    Greetings all,
    Just got my M11x R2 today - I7, 4Gig Ram, 500G HD.
As soon as I plugged my charger into my socket, and went to charge my laptop, it started producing this faint high pitched noise- it differentiates between a long same tone noise, and what would seem as a "loading" noise which it does it in different lengths.

I've got a feeling this isn't right. It's not that loud but clearly annoying.
As soon as I unplug the charger, the sound stops.

Reckon I have power pack that's slowly dying or is that normal?
    Cheers for your help,
    Joel.

    Charger Details: (from sticker)
    Model - FA90PE1-00
    Input- 100-240V- 50-60Hz 1.5A
    Output- 19.5V

I had read a thread about my problem a while ago but I couldn't remember the thread name, and when I searched "Charger noise" in all posts on the m11x it came up with nothing helpful- hence my post, so I did try and search, just with another word for charger :).

Thanks for listing that link and other peoples responses.
    It's helped a lot.

You are liking hearing the capacitors. As long as the noise isn't excessively loud (relative, I know), you should be fine. All electronics have some level of whine to them. The pitch varies from device to device and is more audible to people with better hearing...

My R1 does it along with the Xbox 360. Though, the 360's brick is a lot louder than the M11x's whine.

What about when this noise is coming when the machine is on battery? I don't really hear a noise from the adapter, but I hear a consistent, faint high pitched noise when running on battery.
