    Keep in mind, most dell coupons will say $999, but this is the total before discounts. Say you configure a machine at $700 after coupons, but the pre-discount price was $1015, you can still apply this discount. (At least when I ordered) so if you are close, add something. Even if it's not an upgrade to the system, but say a Razer mouse, as long as you choose it in the system configuration before purchase, it counts toward your $999.
