Just got my R2 and did a new clean install of the OS. Is there any way to restore the alienware account pictures/icons? Everything else has been restored, wallpapers, themes, custom logon screen, etc.. except do not know how to get the account pictures back. Does anyone know how to do this?

Actually, I have tried that. Although it does not restore the account pictures for your Windows Profile. It just installs Stardock Alienware theme.

To change the picture, just hit the windows key, click on the icon (picture) that's there, go to 'change your account picture'

Wallpapers used for the desktop background are found here:
    C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\Alienware

(to grab the default AW Wallpapers, proceed to: http://tinyurl.com/32bs4ku - extract the archive and copy them to the directory above)

User Pictures/Icons/Avatars (whatever you want to call them) are found here (this is a hidden directory):
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default Pictures

As mentioned above, you can 'restore' your Alienware Windows Login screen - see this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/470177-alienware-login-background-gone-m11x.html

    or,

    Check your C:\WINDOWS\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds directory.

There should be a JPG in there titled 'backgrounddefault'

It should be the AW Red login image. If not, drop in the attached.

Anyone know where to get the default wallpapers? I tried using the "Alienware M17x Custom Package", but I get this error:

    Any ideas?

Try right clicking and running it as an administrator. It should fix it.
