    Hey All,

If there is a thread / page / link to what I'm asking for then please link me to it here and close this thread, but I wasnt able to find anything substantial myself with the search functon.

Basically I have an m11X-R2 and I want to wipe it.

I have all the disks it came with, and I also created the USB stick it asked me to do.

So my only question is, what do I do now?

I'm clued up on formatting, drivers etc but I dont know which option to go for.

Do I use an external dvd drive I have and go for it through the disk or use the USB and go for it that way.

    Which way is best?

If you have a USB key that will work it should be faster then any optical drive. I just got an 8GB key that I am planning on setting up for installing Windows 7.

Since I have an external dvd drive, I use that each time. Remember that since you are formatting, you will be missing a lot of drivers and will have to download them from the Dell site, including the wifi drivers. It might be a good idea to format with the external dvd drive and put the drivers on your usb stick so you have them handy.

to save a lot of time, you could just slipstream the drivers into the windows installation, and not have to mess with it after the install is done.

Than you for the responses :)

So the USB I created through the Alienware program is the way to go?
