Hey guys, just got my new m11x, love it. However, the right front panel by the light isn't tightly secured...

Is this just a simple fix I can do myself? I don't see anything obvious, but have not taken anything apart. What anchors that corner down?

Maybe is missing a screw, i would call dell to replace that part.

With so much bleeding there ought to be quite a gap there... Is the gap between the front part and the bottom of the laptop even from left to right?

There is indeed a gap - i can lift it up. Going to the left, there is a gap that gets tighter around the middle. It really seems like it's just missing a screw - or whatever anchors it down on the right.

The palmrest has screws that you can access if you take off the bottom access plate. There will be one in that corner there. There are also clips along the edge that should be holding that site as well.

    Was this a refurb?

Either way call support and have them fix that asap.

Thanks all. I am going to see if they will swap it out. Besides this issue, it won't sit flat on a desk or flat surface, rocks back and forth, and something randomly rattles around inside.

I did take the back off, and indeed two screws that anchor the plam rests were completely missing.

I had the same issue with my first M11x, they send me a brand new unit in exchange.

Like I said, I did remove the panel - and there are two slots that have screws missing. If it was just that, I'd prob just find some of the same size and replace them myself. But something is loose inside where I can't get to, and it does not sit even on a desk, which is awkward.

Good news, I should have a brand new one by next tues-wed - alienware/dell was fantastic, no hassle.
