Just had a sales rep from Dell call me up about my Dell warranty. This indian lady talked my ear off for about 15 minutes straight, trying to get me to extend the warranty on my M11x.
She wanted me to pay 400ish bucks to extend my M11x warranty until 2015... yeah, that's right... 2015
I politely refused and she got increasingly pushy. Tried to scare me with all these hypothetical scenarios "You like to play games right? Why not protect your investment before it breaks, yeah?"
and even as I said "No" over and over and over... she kept saying "Okay so let's just process this now then" .... It was almost surreal. I finally had to hang up on her because I realized that saying "No" means nothing to these salespeople.
then after I hung up, about 10 minutes later I get an invoice for a 400 dollar warranty extension in my e-mail box. I guess they're really pushing the Dell salespeople over there, but this felt almost like harassment at this point.
Anyway, if you're in CST like me it's about 2 hours until 2012, hope everyone is having themselves a drink.

Pushy? Yes.
Illegal? Yes.
Unethical? Yes.
Worth it? Yes in my experience.
Both my original systems were XPS systems I bought in 2008 or 09, and I have decent spec'ed AW's on my sig. -
That story is hilarious and sad at the same time.

thats just horrible, you have great patience my friend, I would have hung up about 10 minutes before you did.

I had the exact same experience back in August. Every time I tried to say something he would cut me off. Finally after 10 minutes or so, the only way I was able to say something was to talk over him. Some more time passed and I decided I had enough. Damn pushy people
