    GPU Acceleration in Chrome?

    I'm not sure what the deal is here but I can not get chrome to use the 335GT for GPU acceleration with flash and GPU Accelerated compositing. I whitelisted chrome in the nividia panel to no avail. I can use GPU acceleration in firefox 4 just fine so I'm not sure what the issue is here.

    Just upgraded to latest beta 270 drivers still does not work.

    I rebooted earlier and just realized the gpu is now using chrome. Must have been the 270 drivers.

    nice find, i may use this. i know in previous versions of chrome you had to manually enable it.

    Chrome does it automatically for me... only with 720p or 1080p videos... I have the 270 driver

    To add to what namaiki has just mentioned, you don't have to use Nvidia for GPU acceleration, it's just as happy with Intel GMA.

    Intel GMA is DX10 (fast)
    Nvidia GT 335M is DX10.1 (faster)

    Chrome will operate better when Nvidia is engaged, obviously.

    Firefox 4.0 recommends NVIDIA driver version 257.21 or newer (June 2010). Firefox 4.0 requires Intel GMA X4500/HD 8.15.10.2202 or higher, when not using Nvidia.

    Dell M11xR1 supplied hybrid driver set only includes Intel GMA 1994 and will only natively work with Google Chrome and FireFox 4.0(must be forced in about:config).

    For M11xR1 owners, IE9.0 GPU acceleration will only work in higher releases of Intel GMA than those supplied in Dell's Hybrid driver set. I have IE 9.0 GPU acceleration working with Intel GMA 2020.

    Opera 11.50 [beta] does not work on any Intel GMA GPU version I have tested, but it works OK with the Nvidia GT 335M GPU.

    I went to about:flags in chrome and that was a pretty big difference in performance. Thanks :)

    R1 running Dell drivers.

    Here's a simple test designed for Firefox that will show you if hardware acceleration is working correctly. It works for Google Chrome too. There should be a significant difference between enabled and disabled. You will have to restart your web browser when testing.
