So i've installed COD black ops, MW2, and bad company 2. I can't for the life of me get these games to work properly. I can't revert back to any <200 series drivers so i cant play bbc2, and for some reason my computer is just locking up at random times when i play either of the call of duty's. They will freeze and then when i try to end the process, it wont even end and i have to manually shut the laptop off with the power button. I've installed and re-installed them twice each to no avail and i cant really find anyone else who has had these problems. It's getting really frustrating and if anyone has any tips i would kindly appreciate them. Thanks.

I really can understand what did you say...Do you have problems with your drivers? problems with games? Or problems with your pc?

do you get any windows errors?

Not to sound harsh but the title clearly says gaming problems. These games will only allow me to stay in them anywhere from 5 min to an hour before they freeze up and make me have to restart my computer. I've got my cpu pegged to 166mhz and ive stress tested it for 12 hours with no hick ups so i know thats not the problem. I'm just missing something....

I am overclocked to 166mhz and i havent actually overlayed my temps in game but during 12 hours of prime 95 they didnt go past 76c. I'm assuming the whitelist is in the nvidia control which if it is then yes they all are and i dont get any errors it just freezes. I can bring up task manager, attempt to end the process but it wont end which leaves me having to manually shutdown with the power button.

I've gone thru more than half of that thread, done almost everything announced in there, and i'm still crashing. 95% of that thread is about peoples gameplay being choppy/stuttering which mine runs flawlessly. It just freezes, and i cant seem to find anything in that thread helping me with this problem.

Can you describe your freezing more clearly? Like are you able to start gameplay and this happens during a game or are you unable to even get to the main menu? What's the status on your audio while this is going on? Does it sound like the game is still continuing in the background?

Try resetting your CPU back to stock clocks and see if that helps.

It's very random when it happens but when it does, its during a game and the sounds freezes with it and i pretty much cant do anything except bring up the task manager which wont even close the game. I guess i'll give stock clocks a try although im fairly certain thats not the problem.
