    Hey guys,

I was a little bored today while listening to music. I had noticed that while iTunes was open and in the foreground, my m11x's fn + f10/f11/f12 buttons could control the music, but while iTunes was in the background (minimized), the media controls would have no effect.

I have't seen any solutions on this site but after doing some searching I did find a solution!

Dell XPS M1330 – Make Multimedia Keys To Work With iTunes | Zuhaib

Yeah, yeah, I know the solution is written for the Dell XPS m1330, but it works perfectly. I can now use my media keys even while iTunes is minimized.

    Enjoy!

P.S. Do not start a flame war against iTunes. We all know it has its flaws.

I've seen this solution before. I actually ended up running into a problem where that plugin no longer worked (I think after a recent itunes update). So after doing some more searching to find a new fix I found hktunes, which is a program that lets you set the keys to whatever you want and allows them to work while itunes isn't in focus.

I despise iTunes but I am stuck because of my iPhone. Recently, after the last update, it uses up almost 75% of resources.
