At home, I plan on using it basically like a desktop, closed with an external monitor mouse and keyboard. Anyone with a similar setup have any advice for me?
I've heard that constantly leaving a laptop plugged in damages the battery over time, and it won't hold a charge. So when I'm at home, should I remove the battery or what?
Also, does anyone here use, or recommend using an external laptop fan?
Thanks.

1. Don't have anything for your first question.
2. Don't remove the battery. Heck, in order to remove the battery, you have to take apart the laptop! I suggest you just leave the power cord out when it is fully charged and when you do need to recharge, just plug it back in.
3. The M11x should be fine without the external laptop fan. Just so long as the vents get enough air (if you want, use one of those laptop cooling mats) the temperature should stay ok. Though if you really want to, I suppose you could use an external fan. -
Wow, with the exception of removing the battery, that's how I used my M11X up until I just got this M15X.
I do have a laptop cooler, though it's not needed as the M11X doesn't get that warm. Oh, and as for the battery, it's set up kind of like the MacBook's to where you can't take it out.
And as for advice, I loved it hooked up to my 32" HDTV, and with the ASUS external Blu-Ray player it was great for movies, etc.

Bah, didn't know the battery was internal. Doesn't sound good.

Yes, when plugged in, if the battery is charged 95%-100% (don't quote me on this) the laptop will run straight off the A/C power and the battery won't keep discharging and charging.
Getting an m11x soon, few simple questions.
