I'd like to get rid of Alienware Command center, or at least the AlienFusion part of it. It seems to conflict with with Win7's power management (specifically the screen dimming/restoration) and it's really annoying me having to reset my brightness everytime I move the mouse.

I don't use AlienSense, I use the Synaptics control panel applet for my touchpad, and AlienFusion is what I want to get rid of.

That only leaves AlienFX, and I'm pretty sure I've seen some application to replace that although I'll have to search it out.

So anything I'm missing here? Is there any good reason to keep the Alienware command center?

    AlienFX Lite

Never tried it and I'm not sure if it can completely supplant AlienFX or not.

EDIT: I did some basic testing yesterday of Fusion and Win7's power plan settings, and it appeared that changes to either were replicating to the other. Are you saying that they aren't for you?

I'm not quite sure, the changes seem to be replicating, but my problem comes when windows "dims" the screen after xx minutes of inactivity.

When running on batteries, when I move the mouse or hit a key, the screen only re-brightens to the very bottom of the brightness scale, and I have to increment it a couple times.

I've been blaming the Alienware power saving for this, should I be looking elsewhere?

Is this since the update? I had this problem a few months ago, it is fixable without removing anything. I'll have a look, see if i can remember how i did it

I'm not sure, I never ran it before the update. The newer version of Command Center was out when my m11x arrived and the 2nd thing I did on the machine was update everything. (The first thing I did was uninstall everything else.)
