I may have the chance to get an M11x R2 w/these specs for $800.

    Core i7 640UM
    4GB DDR3
    320GB HDD
    Lunar Shadow

Obviously, the 335M and what not. Its in PERFECT condition. I think it looks good.

Also, anyone tries to play crysis 2 on an R2? I want to know how that will play. I will OC and use ThrottleStop, maybe SetPLL, and the new .95v BIOS. I confirmed it hit 166MHz with the guy, screenshot and all, so I'm optimistic.

Really? Sweeet. My m9750 is COMPLETELY bottlenecked by the CPU. Every res, even 800x600 is at 25FPS, and I have a 280M. Can't wait! G1xx3r, gotta ask, is the momentus xt worth it? I may put one in it.

just get a 120gb ssd and buy a hard drive enclosure for the enternal 1 so you can turn it into an external for extra storage.
and hmm what cpu does your m9750 have?

A Core 2 Duo T7200, 2GHz stock. I OC'd it to 2.3GHz, still sucks. Its 65nm, but it works. I guess its better than whats in the M11x R1?

yeah its slightly better, but il have my cpu at 2ghz before next month. \
but it shouldnt be THAT bottlenecked... iv never gone below 30fps on any game on my m11x. mines pinmodded at 1.73ghz

there's definitly something weird going on, everything low at 800x600 doesnt seem right at all lol. my m11x is my main gaming rig and its at 1.73ghz and iv never had a game lag.
anyway, the r2 is a good deal, just be sure to wach temps.. they get pretty high.

I find it wierd it only sucks at crysis 2? It owns everything else. I will watch temps. I'm hoping to end up with a 3D mark around 8K. I heard someone got 9100?

the most anyone had gotten with the r2 is just over 9k. from about 7.4k stock.. good increase there. on my r1 im getting olmost 7700 ATM. looking to get 8.2-8.5k when the R1 vmod is done and my processor is at 2ghz.

i play crysis 2 at highest at 720p and it runs amazing. so it could be a config problem on your end.
the R2 plays cpu based games about 20% better then an r1 at 1.6ghz.
    not counting mods

Kinda figured. I may wait for an R3, though. I have a feeling it'll get 3DMark around 9-10k stock. I think SB isn't OC'able, though.

you might be waiting awhile, and SB is but definitely not near as high as the 1st gen i5 or i7. and yeah the r3 will score in the 8-9k range stock, the gpu is only about 15% better... with the r1 and r2 vmod and a good overclock it can pass the stock GT540 gpu.

And an R3 with a vmod and good OC should murder it. :) I believe it may be out this month, hopefully. The stock SB i7 will probobly be as fast as a non TS, OC'd i7. With TS (considering it works), and any possible OCing, it should break 10k 3DMark.

the GT540 may be able to vmod too, but might take a little bit to get the support for it. and TS wont work with sandy bridge. its in another thread. but at the most we could get out of an r3 is slight cpu overclock, and decent gpu overclock. considering the 540 has good OC support.

I really hope the CPU is Oc'able in some way. But yes, it might take awhile for a vmod to come out. Maybe DaveyGT could be persueded to get one goin right after its released.

Initially I didnt see a huge difference but after a couple of days it really starts to shine..Boot time ~32 sec down from ~60sec,frequently used stuff in a snap.Gaming I dont see much of a difference but Chrome loves this thing..Worth the $$

i hope so too, i might upgrade to an r3 January of next year and would like it to be moddable and overclockable. but i wouldnt suspect a mod when the r3 is released, maybe a few months after.

Well, thats how it happened with both models. I think that, all in all, until crazy mods come out, TS SetPLL'd i7's will be faster.

Most likely. If the R3 gets 8.5k on 06, then the fastest R2's match it.

I forgot the R1 didn't have a Vmod. If you pin mod it to 2.2, I think it is, and Vmod it, you should break 8.5k.

yep, thats what im thinking. the highest pinmod iv seen is 2ghz at 333mhz fsb, 2.4ghz mod was tested but was unstable due to ram bottleneck, but if someone could find amazing ram, 2.4 might be doable. i hope to have a stable vmod bios within the next couple days, i cant take the credit tho, im just the tester =P

crysis 2 plays about an average of 30 fps on my OC m11x at 570/1400/900 and 178 FSB. i have the i5. with this OC including vmod for the GPU my temps did go up to 85C though. i'm not concerned cause these chips are rated at 105C.

Why does this game randomly lock up on my r2 i5? Does anybody have the same issue? GPU oc'd at 540/1220/870 driver 267.76, gamer setting with 1366x768 res. Is this because of the shadder clock?

I've yet to try either of the Crysis games on my R1. Will Crysis 2 bottleneck on an R1? I was having fun playing it on my dad's older AMD 64 desktop machine with twin 8800 GTS cards in SLI mode. Good times. :)
