Hello guys long time I dont post here :). So well I saw the other day that crysis 2 got leaked and I tried to test it to see how it works. My mouth was open when I played it on gamer settings...25 to 30 Fps With gpu overcloaked. Still the game is leaked so there are a few bugs etc. I just want you guys to know that definitely buying this game not matter what for ps3 or pc. I want to help crytek to give us a better game everytime.

What does Gamer translate to? Medium, or high settings?

Gamer is the lowest settings on the leaked Beta, but it may not necessarily be the lowest when the game is released.

    (1) By "tried [Crysis 2]", do you mean you illegally pirated a pre-release game through a torrent?

    (2) It's pre-release. Non-optimized. The online videos that I saw didn't even show facial textures completed.

    (3) In previous Crysis games, Gamer settings = high settings

lol, should have put tried in quotes, I love my back of the truck edition as much as the next guy. At least he is going to buy the full game so can't give him too much grief.

Last time I posted Crysis 2 benchmarks my thread was closed and I got a warning.

I would suggest to not talk about Crysis 2 until the OFFICIAL release... (Since also the game dev edition isn't very stable to give conclusive performance reports for either R1 or R2)

p.s. GOING OFF OF CRYSIS WARHEAD:

    GAMER = HIGH
    HARDCORE = VERY HIGH

Why shouldnt he. Damn crytek for releasing their stupid xbox demo before a pc demo, when the people who made crysis successful are pc gamers (obviously). Im not suggesting people SHOULD torrent this but there is a reason they are doing it. So long as people BUY the full game when it comes out there will be no harm done. Heck if they had released this as a beta with expiring key's this would never have been a problem to begin with.

Crysis was never "successful" per say. The game was criticized as boring when it came out and very repetitive (until warhead came out and did a great job). The game was much more well known for Graphics than gameplay.

Dont be ignorant. Everything has a release date and a reason for a release date. You dont take an item and say you'll buy it when it comes out. Remember just because you personally will justify the piracy doesn't mean the rest of the world will.

In all honesty how many ppl do you think will buy the game? If they beat it in dev mode or it becames available as a retail pirated copy?

I'm actually done with giving ppl the benefit of the doubt. Now, all I'm going to say, you have no right to own a copy now because its not the release date, your a pirate and your no better than the ones that leaked it. (by you I mean who ever pirates, not point fingers)

And you guys wonder why pc gaming took a hit.

Stop justifying your piracy and dont pirate. You take a game before release date, it is illegal pure and simple.

    Its easy.

    No thin lining.

    @ OP

Wait for real benchmarks to come out with retail copies of the game. This is a dev edition which is meant to be tested and edited by the company until fully optimized.

The game has been said to be more optimized (although I think thats bs, considering theres less foliage ofc there wont be as much fps lag and you can bump up graphics).

I am going to assume that both the R1 and R2 will be able to do low to medium. With the R2 being able to handle more specualar, physics and less lag in AI intense areas.

But both will be about the same.

    P.S

Its pirates that make a video game an intellectual property and nothing more. Pretty soon we dont own anything we buy, we just rent PC games with 1 activation and constant internet connection.

Im not being ignorant, Im being idealistic. To be straightforward I dont have a pirated copy, nor have any intention to download one (unless they toss us some disgusting drm scheme like ubisoft did with assassins creed 2 (that was just plain criminal) but I doubt that will happen). I have every intention of buying the game, what annoys me is that I still believe that on some level, game designers should stay at least slightly loyal to their fanbase, and crysis fanbase is the pc, bar none, since it wasnt on any other platform. Thats why the entire xbox demo first pissed me off. Crysis dosent even mean anything to those who have never played it on a decent pc. That said, I am fully aware of how the modern electronics industry has turned against the consumer and toward maximum profit margin, if that screws us well so be it. Crysis is really getting the short end of the stick with this one because they are the least of the offenders, but between sony blocking off the ability to install linux on their ps3, and the right to hack something you rightfully own (for non illegal purposes) and ubisoft putting drm schemes on its games that make them nigh unplayable, this kind of stuff just makes me care less and less about piracy. The unfortunate truth is that the pc gaming industry isnt taking a hit due to piracy, its taking a hit due to increased popularity of consoles. In fact there is almost as much piracy that takes place with consoles as do with pc's, but because pc's are so open to modification, drm schemes for pc games are often bordering on illegal consumer rights infringement. In the end though I doubt this will even touch crysis 2 sales, but either way we shouldnt be downloading it. A demo comes out on the 1'st of march, well see how well that plays soon enough.

You gotta wonder WHY the game was leaked in the first place. Most likely it was a Crytek employee who did it, no?

I dunno about you guys, but I'm fine just watching Youtube videos and hearing testimonials. I ordered a Nano Edition a long time ago and I can't wait to have a Crysis backpack for school.

Let's all be friends here, c'mon.

I never really liked crysis. Its really boring, and im pretty sure 99% of the people who got it, got it just so they they could go around to their friend, "hey i can run crysis on ultra high specs"

I thought it was pretty fun to snipe a korean while invisible with a sleeping dart, put some c4 on him, then blow him up when he wakes up. Or sneak up on an alien when invisible and throw them into oblivion. I like the tactics and the game, guess it depends what kind of gaming you like.

I always thought that was only fun when it's 1-on-1. The nanosuit doesn't really have enough energy for someone to fight multiple guys at once and still have fun.

*sigh* the games a port. Insta-not buying. I learned the problem from BFBC2 and Lag ops. PC gaming is dying. Can't believe Crytek will ditch PCs just like Treyarch and other console hugging ********. I will get it for 360. Me very sad :(

@All - I made a quick write up in the game forums. In short...
Graphics- pretty good. Can't get much time to look at anything.
Performance -on M15x Gamer at 50-60fps Advanced at 40-50fps (900p)
Gameplay - Bad. Hit detection is worse than BFBC2. Get ready to display Nerd Quit Rage cause this needs serious help. I see this as being another fun Single Player game. It depends on the AI built into the SP game.
Purchase -- Dont know yet. Still on the fence.

its is DEF not a port of Crysis 2 off Xbox, considering the massive graphical leap. Its not even to be compared.

Just because a Demo is giving you problems dont be quick to jude it as a port. Crysis 2 on PC leaps bounds over console.

The only game that I think will be pretty close will be Battlefield 3, which will be close between the ps3 and PC because of MLAA and deferred shading.

Crysis 2 in all logic should be PC, ps3 and 360 in that order in graphics.

Thats if the engine was properly optimzied for each engine.

Well I manged to get into the Demo.

It def fails to impress, gameplay wise. Its very generic and very uneven. Its a mix between BF BC 2 controls and Cod fast gameplay.

It has very bad hit detection, I sprayed my gun with guy 1 ft away and missed everyshot. I hit some1 3 times in the head and no register.

All in all I will want to see better hit detection more than anything. The graphics are great, and def worth the play through.

On my main computer I managed to get 70+ fps maxed out @ 1080p w video card @ stock.

I haven't had time to test it out on my m11x but I predict 20-40 fps on lowest settings @ native w/ frame drops below 20s in intense scenes.

I hope they add advanced graphics so we can customize the graphics our selves.

At this moment, if all we have is predefined graphics, then we there is pretty good chance that we're looking at another port.

Although its still def much better running than Crysis 1.

I'm def buying this only for the story!

I downloaded the multiplayer too. I get average 25 to 20 fps....not bad for m11x I guess( gpu overcloacked) Always on gamer settings. I think crytek did a good job with this one.
