Sorry, I am new to PC gaming so please excuse if this sounds like basic questions

I just got an m11xR1 and it comes with an Nvidia GeForce 335M graphics chip

How do I know what "level" it is compared to AMD chips or even Nvidia's own chips. There seems to be soooo many out there

Example - I wanted to get Shogun 2 as my 1st game, but on the steam website it has the following

Minimum requirements - Graphics: 256 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card (shader model 3)
Recommended - Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 series graphics cards or equivalent DirectX 11 compatible graphics card

How does this compare to the AMD radeon HD 5000/6000? And I think the 335M is a directx 10.1?

Same goes for the Intel C2D, how does this compare to AMD cpu?

You will know what level the 335M is compared to AMD or nVidia chips by comparing performance in benchmarks. No other ways to do it.

The 335M is slightly behind the GT240 in performance, which compares to the 4670. If you ignore the DirectX version, it is behind a 5650. The game will run on the 335M though.

The Intel C2D on the R1 is a CULV type so it can be compared to AMD's Turion 2 Neo series, at similar or higher clocks.

the GT335 is 2% slower then a radeon 5650. my GT335 is about 10-13% faster then the 5650 due to very high overclocks.
