is there any way to get the HDMI slot on the m11x to work as an HDMI in to display on the screen? like to hook up an xbox to it and play or something? Cuz that would kick ...

one word ....NO, extremly few units have video in of any kind. with some USB video capuure units you can do this but expect input lag.

strangly one of the few machines I ever saw do this well was the pre Dell Alienware M9750 ( origional M17 ) with an excllent s-video input.

I had the same dream deadboy90... but unfortunately it seems the M11x can only to HDMI out.

My advice would be to invest in an affordable LCD monitor, and get yourself a DVI to HDMI cable. I've got my 360 hooked up to a 24'' display and it works great.

I can see having HDMI in on larger screens for things like an XBOX or PS3, but the 11" screen is small enough as it is and not conducive to something like this. Plus it would add extra bulk and cost.

You can always stream video to the laptop.

Alienware M17x has HDMI in and out.

HDMI-output connector — Connects to a TV for both multi-channel digital audio and video signals.
NOTE: For a monitor without built-in speakers, only the video signal will be read.

HDMI-input connector — Connects to the HDMI-output connector on your video device such as a DVD player, camcorder, or gaming device.
NOTE: The HDMI-input connector works only when the computer is on.
