Hey guys I am going to buy an m11x and was wondering about how long it takes to get one to be shipped starting with the day that you purchase it. Oh from online. I would choose 5-7 buisness days.

That length is only when they ship it.

Probably anywhere from 10-14 days plus the 5-7 days.

My order from the dell outlet shipped the same day. Also you can get 15% off there now and free 2nd day shipping. Which for me got there the next day. I still dont see how it happened, I feel like dell wanted to set a performance record or something.

Coupon code can be found below.

That's because Dell outlet is not custom built and ship out directly from the US. So do the quick ship i5 models (the one I got). If you order r1 or r2 with i7, i5 with custom nameplate etc you'll be looking at at least 10 days.

    Okay new question...

Buy m11x new for $680 after taxes and shipping or go with a dell outlet one for $600

Outlet might have some scratches and such, though my R2 arrived looking brand new. For the extra $80 you're getting peace of mind that you're the first person to use the computer and nothing's been soiled yet. Also get the cool looking box and accessories.

The $600 quote you have, does that include the 15% off promo code they're currently running? If it doesn't use TTK758254NPMCL which should knock the price down to $510 which would make it easier to recommend going with Dell Outlet.

I'd go new for peace of mind or get really long warranty for an outlet. You never know when you'll get a problem ridden one with cracked hinges already lol.

New and shinny is always nice. I have gotten outlet laptops in the past and they have been great. Maybe it's just to comfort me when making the outlet purchase but I always consider the fact that if there was anything wrong with this computer dell fixed it and put it through another round of inspections. By that logic the outlet computer is actually a safer buy.

Although I am very sad about the name plate :(.

The hinge problem I am not as worried about. Even If I got one that was defective...I think I would use the epoxy solution to fix it.
I am selling the laptop in my sig to get the m11x. I don't want to wait too long for it to come without having anything. But around two weeks is kind of long

It seems like it takes between 10-12 days longer for a new computer vs an outlet computer.

In the long run the extra 10-12 day wait wont make a bit of difference, even if it seems like it will right now. A year from now if you ordered a computer you really didnt want just to get it a few days earlier, you are going to be stuck with it.

I feel your pain though. I sat through the 599 black friday special and as soon as we were gone I regreated it completely. As a note, I missed it because the outlet computers were cheaper then too! Could get a R1 with the 250gig hd and 4gigs of ram for 539 with the 15% off.

As a note, I see a $599 base model R1 on the outlet right now, which will be $509 after 15% off.

All you guys are lucky. I talked to Dell today and the rep said that mine won't be in until Jan 20th. I ordered mine Dec 10th. Asked why it was going to take that long and he said it's because my shipping address is APO. Ugh...

Oh and I ordered my m11x r2 on a friday night and used the fast track one. I had mine at 8:30 tuesday morning.. I would have had it monday if I didn't order so late on friday.

EDIT - I found it lol man I feel stupid...
