I was planning on getting this game, since the games just launched on Steam today, if someone could give a minimum FPS they got if they've played the game. Thanks![]()

Interested in this as well. I use to have B&W so when I saw the video for this I thought it looked neat.
-
I think you should have a look at this:
From Dust PC players erupt in anger over port | Joystiq
Cheers. -
Well that bites. Really wish companies would start actually taking the time to make pc versions. I mean, the pc is far more capable then consoles. Why not just port to them instead...
-
supposedly steam will offer you a refund if you file a complaint since the DRM wasn't suppose to be there, or it was a one-time only thing.
so if you bought it already, send steam a message and see if you can get your $15 back! -
I really don't see what all the fuss is about. It's a great game, it plays really well, and at the end of the day, don't we game to have fun??!?
Anyways, YES it runs just fine on an M11x.
My first impressions video of the game is up at From Dust - Release Version First impressions - YouTube -
^Wow, thanks
and I have checked out your other videos too! You would make a great machinima commentator!
-
Impressive game and really funny video.
Happy to know my R3 will handle it. -
froogle, love your video, going to buy the game now
-
Very entertaining froogle, makes me want to play it (despite assessments being due)! Must... resist... temptation...!
-
I will post in a day or 2 how it runs on my r1.
-
Indeed, I would love to play with big balls and totems all day. However, it looks like a game I would just spend hours on killing the villagers and not advance in the game....
-
Wasn't that one of the best parts about B&W though?
-
Just going to post about my R1 FPS results:
They mostly stayed in 14-19. The game is CPU dependant. Changing the resolution does nada, nothing. But you get used to the bad frames. It ran pretty bad IMHO. Fun game though, tidal waves are scary as hell. -
Low frames doesn't seem like a huge deal for that game, it doesn't seem like anything intense happens all at once too quickly. I could be wrong though
-
Downloading now, should know soon if it will run on my r1.
-
Ok guys. Thanks for all the nice comments. I'll post up an m11x specific video later this afternoon and an r3 one next week.
-
-
About 30 more minutes and I should have the game to check it out. I wish my work connection was faster though... or that I could use the un-capped internet... It would of downloaded in about 5 minutes with the un-cap.
-
Hehe thanks Zuu.
Ok guys - update video showing it running on the M11x, complete with shoutouts, is up at From Dust Follow up - Ubisoft are muppets! - YouTube -
lol, muppets
-
Awesome videos froogle, thanks for those. Shame with the DRM though, I may not bother getting this until they remove that since I won't be able to break it out whenever I want as is. Or would this maybe not matter if I got it through Steam?
-
Just tried to start up the game and it crashed right away... then I realized my graphics card was off
Turned it on and now it works!
Getting a solid 16 fps with OC on in my r1, playable for me, might get worse as I get to more complex levels.... but at least now I have the game and can play it on a desktop later on.
EDIT:
Just looked at my CPU usage log, while the game was running I was hanging between 95% and 100% CPU usage. -
-
Just watched your video very nice, informative, love the muppets and gigantic balls, I dont think hes going to send you free stuff , and sorry but i have to tell your son. Subscribed.
-
Ah, that was awesome froogle! Runs quite nicely, cheers mate!
-
So I just played for about 4 hours on my r1, it runs like a dream!
-
The water physics are amazing (However jagged as hell and a meh texture) the water reacts realistically.

Thanks again guys. And laptop nut I do see your point, and in my latest vid I did call ubisoft on it. I even emailed my press contacts there - naturally no comment.
-
-
I haven't noticed much of a performance change from map to map on the R2. Also just got an email that the R3 is arriving tomorrow so may have to get on with that update video on the R3.
-
It seems Ubisoft is going to remove the DRM from the game in a few weeks. So now it will actually be a viable game for those with systems like the M11x. Just hope it also includes PC specific things like graphics settings and such.
Does This Fix the From Dust Disaster? -
Nice find! Here's hoping
Has anyone played From Dust on the M11X?
