If you was wondering why i want too install xp is because i want too flash my ram too higher the cas because Thaiphoon burneror ony works on 32bit os.
But the problem is i cant get it installed which is on a fresh hard drive i just got in, Every time it gets too windows is starting up blue setup screen it will blue screen.. So i thought maybe its my external cdrom screwing up so i tried too make a usb boot flash drive with xp and cant get it working..
So i installed the laptop hdd in my desktop so i can install the setup files ony, And after that was done i pop the hdd back in my m11x and it started too load the xp bar screen and it pop up the same blue screen something like wrong or new hardware or something..
I was wondering sense Thaiphoon burner needs 32bit windows will windows 7 32bit work? or does it need too have 32bit xp?
-
just do a fresh install with a bootable usb. format using ntfs and you should be good to go.
-
because Thaiphoon burneror ony works on 32bit os.
maybe you should install 32bit of w7 then? -
Thats the problem i cant get xp too work with a usb flash drive. And the drive is formatted and on ntfs. Just dont get why it keeps poping the blue screen up either.
and for Thaiphoon burner with the current win 7 64bit i tried turning driver signing off and uac and it starts up and reads both ram sticks and shows the timings and has options too change them but it seems like the ram is showing its already on cas 9 which is the highest you should go sense anything over that i herd it bricks the ram stick. But in cpuz mem tab it says its running cas6, Is that why it needs too be run on 32bit windows? -
Hmm going too install 32bit windows 7 sense i know that will install and its easy too put on a flash drive, But any idea why it starts up fine on 64bit now after i turn off uac and driver signing? It reads both ram sticks and even shows the timings and let me change the options But like i said in my post above this it seems like it might not be reading the cas right sense its showing its on cas 9 right now which cpuz is on cas 6, Is that why it needs 32bit windows? -
If you have an XP installation you like already then use Acronis Universal Restore to restore XP onto a machine with different hardware.
Its really cool.
You first need to image XP using Acronis Workstation ($50) and then restore using Universal Restore.
You will need the chipset drivers. -
you need to change from achi to ATA in the bios. then your all set.

Tried that already still wont get pass the setup screen with out a blue screen.. Think im going too install 32bit windows 7 for the flash instead of xp sense i can easily install that too a flash drive with out any problem.
Maybe something is wrong with my external cdrom drive or the m11x doesn't like it much sense its a old drive.
Still don't understand why the blue screen pop up even when i installed the first setup on my desktop with the laptop hdd connected too it sense it ony copys the setup files ony..
But ya going too do windows 7 32bit instead ,Xp has always cause me installing problems even with my other machines.. lol -
