    Hey guys ! :)

I have had a very nice ping lately (around 14-24ms) and now I have one of 225ms and a slower download speed. This happened right after I got a trojan from epicplay that downloaded with vlc player. I removed it but...... could it of loaded in my ram?

My ping varies (yesterday i got 24ms and a hour later I got 250ms). I scanned my ram and no threats were found.
    Thanks!

Trojan HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, please stop going on and on about it, kkthxx.

Ping = time until server responds to your request. Either receiving server (say your TF2 server) is having issues, say a rat is chewing the router, or your internet provider don't like you anymore, Or your wifi card/its drivers are acting up...

most likely internet provider for the server or you is to blame. Or overheating of your wifi card, which is less likely by far.

Again, please stop with the TROJAN, it would've been a big deal in the 90's, but now... everyone gets them, its like flu.

Yeah a trojan has nothing to do with this.
It is something to do with your ISP or your wifi card. That or its the server you are trying to play on. There is only so much you can do to fix these issues.

you could try a speed test from here and see what it says. I always have higher ping because I live in Alaska :( I've just learned to deal with it. I also use another program that kills tasks running in the background so it improves your speeds if that's a problem. that can be found here :) hope this helps a bit.

Run a tracert to the server you are connecting to and see if there is an abnormally long hop in the path somewhere. That will let you see where you delay is coming from. Jsut open a command prompt window and type in

    tracert x.x.x.x
(where x.x.x.x is the ip address of the server) or
    tracert www.myservername.com

    Look on the bright side:
a high ping in TF2 can mask the fact that you SUCK!
