Is it possible to just get a hinge replacement before the inevitable happens?

I'd like to know the above also!

I don't want to get a hinge replacement just for the sake of it if nothing is wrong!

has anyone so far gotten their hinges destroyed after the replacement?

If not, then i guess theres nothing to lose right if we just order them now

i had my original hinge replaced under warranty

the replacement hinge just broke after 8 months and my R1 unit is now out of warranty

i am now availing of the one time, out of warranty replacement to the "new" hinge being offered by dell

lets see how long and how durable this new hinge is

    :D

It is, when you call tell them you´ll be outside of the country and you will need your laptop everyday on the go and a foul LCD is unacceptable, so you´d like a new LCD with new hinges (that´s what I did...) Besides yeah I am in Costa Rica right now!
