Just ran a windows update restart and I login and see the same start screen and icons from when I got the laptop new from dell. My data is still there but only appears when i hunt it down under C:/Users/etc. Lost all personal data on chrome, my desktop, etc.

And no windows restore? :wth: That should still be there.

It looks like a new user was setup but its still the same as it was...

It has everything directed to a user 'TEMP' but connected to my username.

Well I guess what happened is windows opened up a TEMP user account/desktop after it restarted.

After another restart through safe mode everything actually came back to normal (my user profile) and the TEMP folders under C:/Users disappeared.

I just ran the latest batch of Windows updates and my M11x R1 Win 7 x64 Ultimate install is toast.

Can't roll back to a restore point, system recovery doesn't work, etc.

    Looks like I'll be doing a re-install.
