How do I disable the touchpad when using a usb or bluetooth mouse? I find it almost impossible to play a fps game because of this. The space bar which is usually the command for jump, is right above the touchpad and my thumb rests on the pad which messes the aiming.

    Thanks :)

Edit: the option under Alientouch didn't work for me. I also have the latest version of Synaptics (downloaded from their site v15.2.7) and I don't see the option to disable the touchpad

Alienware Command Center>AlienTouch>Disable TouchPad when external USB mouse is attached.
    Good luck :)

I looked at Synaptics Pointing Device options, no luck there

I think there's something wrong with Alientouch. The option was enabled by itself. So I went and disabled it, clicked apply, then went back and I see the option as enabled....

Yea, there is only 1 "Apply" button.
You can try clicking on : Restore Default Values (Right upper corner). After that try to disable the touchPad with the method I told you.

Thats the point, now try to Disable the touch pad again after you click on default.
If it just doesnt work, you could try to re-install Command Center... 'cause i dont have any other idea...
Or you can wait till another person post you with a better idea :D

Is there a place to download Command Center?

The touchpad driver? The one on synaptics website is newer, but I will go try the dell one

Awesome, I reinstalled the Command Center and now it works. Thanks guys for the help

Edit: Nvm...As soon as I reverted back to the newer synaptics drivers, Alientouch became messed up again. Why is the option to disable the touchpad missing from the new drivers

Why do you need latest synaptic drivers (not latest dell drivers) if you want to disable the touchpad anyway?
