I got my keyboard replaced today and noticed that the new keyboard has the Euro sign beside the "5". I think this keyboard is the international version. But anyway, how do I type it out? I have tried ALT, CRTL, FN, and SHIFT on both signs of the keyboard and was still unable to produce that sign.

Try Ctrl+Alt+5 (on my Lenovo laptop it's Ctrl+Alt+4 as it's printed on the 4 key).
Also under Windows --> Region and Language settings --> Keyboard and Languages --> Change Keyboard - check you are using a European Keyboard (mine is United Kingdom).

Related question. How can I get the £ UK pound sign?
At work I can use the number pad and the sequence shown in character map i.e. ALT-0163 but I can't get that to work on my M11x. -
Even though the euro symbol is shown on the 5 key...
try altGr+4
This should give you the €
Dont have to worry so much as to why then is the € shown at the lower-right-side of the 5 key....
good luck mate. -

There's always the option to use the character map.

If the key-combos get annoying after a while; try SharpKeys and designate a disused key to £/€ instead. For instance, have is set for the Menu key to return * (asterisk) instead.
How do I produce the Euro sign from my keyboard?
