Ok so i installed the intel and nvidia drivers and just overclocked to 166mhz. overclocking seemed to make my computer a bit slower... ne reason for this?

If it is possible/recommended how can i OC my gpu now?

Also iv been wondering for a while but cant get a good answer - what is throttle stop and whats it used for?

Is there any other "optimisations" i can do to improve gaming performance? i mainly just play world of warcraft...

    thanks

Without Throttle Stop the CPU overclock will actually make your computer slower. It's explained in the Throttle Stop thread here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m11x/524257-how-supercharge-m11x-core-i5-i7-um-cpus.html

Search this forum for EVGA Precision (or just EVGA) and you should find some good threads on overclocking the GPU. EVGA Precision is the program most people use to overclock their GPU but there are also some other options out there. Every system's ability to handle overclocking is different, so you have to do some benchmark and gaming tests to see what's stable on yours. Start low and increase the different settings in increments <10 at a time.

The stable OC for my system is in my sig. I couldn't get 3dmark06 to complete consistently with the CPU or GPU higher than that, even if it managed to make it through 1 full run occasionally.
