It really depends on the settings of the battery like high or battery saving
on high doing that with the lights on i get about 4
the max life i was able to get was 5.30 with no lights and music playing nonstop with min brightness

When you say min brightness do you mean 10-20% only or it is at least 50-60% out of 100%? When you got the 5.30 hours was ur wifi on the whole time?

Basically I just want it to last 5 hours at least continuously while editing Microsoft Word/Excel and non stop surfing over wifi with light music playing here and there.

Unfortunately even with the help of this forum i haven't gotten insane battery life with my M11x R2. I would say the most I've gotten would be a little more than 6 hours brightness all the way down, wifi disabled, antivirus disabled. basically just taking notes and playing minesweeper. I would say normally i average about 4:30 to 5 hours. Depending on what I'm doing. There are a few threads that can help u optimize your R2 to be more efficient.

Try to get batterybar pro it is a better indicator because it shows the usage being expended at a given time.

with wifi on & browsing, brightness all the way down, and no back-lighting effects, i get 6+ hours on a full charge. (power setting balanced)

I don't know if this makes any difference but I do have an SSD instead of a regular hard drive which uses more energy.

    3 1/2 on gaming?!?!

Well I have my laptop O/Ced to 150 Mhz and when I play WoW i only get 1 1/2 hours of gaming lol.

When I play a less intensive game like minecraft or supermeatboy i get like 2+ hrs of gaming.
