Hi guys, im new here and i just got my m11x R1. Question is how do I install the 258.98 drivers from here and get the new intel graphics control panel (or can I)

Hybrid Graphics Master Set Drivers - LaptopVideo2Go Forums

I don't understand what order to install and uninstall things in. I've tried to uninstall the GT335 drivers and then install the modded ones but i can't seem to change the brightness while in integrated mode and i can't get the latest drivers for the intel IGP.

You probably did everything correctly. I assume you signed the drivers after installing.

The brightness adjustment when on Intel is a settings issue with my 256.96 package. Drivers above Intel version 2020 (last 4 digits of version) will not work with Intel 4500M Hybrid Graphics notebooks. This is due to a bug in the Intel drivers not detecting the internal LCD.

I am currently working on 260.63 Hybrid Graphics Master Set which will hopefully fix some of the issues stated (aside from the new Intel drivers bug which I cannot do anything about).

@Nautis - thanks for the work... I was benchmarking last night with 260.63 and didn't have much time to look at the audio stuff. To tell you the truth, if/when you complete the hybrid set for 260.63 I may actually set my bios back to switchable to try them out. I wanted to run some comparison benchmarks between discrete and switchable set to m335GT. Probably no difference but I just want to be sure.

You know what's weird.. is that last night, I Installed 167.75 whql for kicks to do some benchmarking in BFBC2. There really isn't much difference in fps between that one and the newest driver. I know in the release notes, it's either 167.75 or 167.21 that adds sli/multip gpu support for BFBC2. It says NOTHING about single card performance tweaks at all. So this means in over 8 months nVidia has offered NO performance increases for this game for 3xx and 2xx series cards. The 4xx got a boost from the 256 series drivers I think.

OH well.. Sorry for long post. Best Wishes, StevenX

If/when I finish the 260.63 set I hope they are complete enough that they will be worth the try. As you said I doubt they will have a performance difference but if they do that would be interesting.

I am not too surprised about the lack of performance difference honestly. Nvidia has been recycling things for a while now and tend to focus only on the latest/greatest. Much of the benefit of newer drivers comes in the form of compatibility/fixes with newer games. There honestly is something to just finding the driver that has the best function to performance ratio and just sticking with it. Much of what people experience with new or modified drivers is a placebo.

i did sign the drivers afterwards. I tried the Nvidia 258.49 / Intel 1994 today and the brightness control doesn't work on those either (is it suppose to?)
