    As the title says :) It is a Cooler Master NotePal X-Lite I got from black friday

    Get a new fan + power supply in there... if the fan is rated for 1k RPM it wont spin faster due to the controller.

    true, you won't be able to go far with only the usb power and stock fan.
    buy a case fan and power it 12V externally to get more air flow.
    Or build a ghetto cooler like me :D !

    Well since its 1k rpm rated, what would happen if I hook it to a external power supply? And how would i do that?

    since it is rated at 1k rpm most likely it wont go faster than that, or just slightly + burn it up. Simply the controller used wont spin it quicker than that. Put in a new fan with external power supply or just use as is... it wont add much more cooling anyways.
