    I dont think you can, if you could i would have already upgraded from my r1; i hate optimus, I NEED CONTROL!!!!

    i haven't had any issues with optimus. turns on when i game and off when i'm done. what's the problem?

    The problem is it doesn't work all the time you want to. It works with most later games, but for instance works very tardy with JAVA games for me... Now it is better with the latest updates, but before it used to be very annoying, as i had to set up most of games manually to use the nvidia graphics, and it wouldn't even switch for some games...

    Exactly, there's a gigantic sticky thread about optimus problems for a reason, I really wish alienware would give you the option to use optimus or not as opposed to forcing it on you
