    Hello,
    I've searched on google and this forum, try to identify if I own a, R1 or R2 alienware m11x.

    How do I tell which one it is, also, what is the difference? Is there a point in upgrading?

    R1 would have a Core 2 processor, and R2 would have i5 or i7.

    Upgrading from an R1 to and R2 would probably not be worth it on any level. Wait another year.

    Visually, an M11xR1 has a VGA port on the left hand side.

    On the back near the fan it says R1 or R2. Just sayin.

    Looked on the bottom, could not see a R1 or R2.
