PROBLEM SOLVED
You can go into the MapleStory installation folder, right click "GameLauncher.exe", and click the 'Run with graphics processor -> High Performance' option.
That's the only way I have been able to run it with the 335m.

51 views but no answer? I've been trying to help others out with other problems. Can someone help me out with this?
ill appreciate it if someone can figure this mystery out. -
Wish I could help, I asked this same question a few months ago and I did not get an answer either.
-
I'm willing to send maybe a gift out to someone to solves this problem.
No luck so far. -
Does a 2D side-scroller really need whitelisting?
-
do you really want to play on integrated? how ignorant.
It's like saying you have something but you cant use it. -

Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Manage 3D Settings> Find MapleStory on the drop down menu.
Select it.
Pull down the 2nd drop down box "High Performance Nvidia Processor"
Click apply.
Re run the game =] -
the problem is that it won't let you. You can't even click it...it only has integrated.

Ah, I see what you mean. I just tried manually doing it, however that is odd.
The only reason I can think of, is as it's a 2D game, it needs very little power requirements from the GPU which the Intel graphics card can handle well over it's necessary requirements to play the game on maximum. There's no point using the Nvidia card, as there won't be no overall game improvements hence why it's not highlighted I'm afraid.
Even bypassing it to use the Nvidia graphics card (which isn't even possible) would still provide no benefits.
So just keep using the integrated card. It's more than enough juice to play the game on max settings -
no i still rather play with the nvidia graphic card. I mean this comp costed me a total of 1600$...and i cant even play this game the way i want to?
-
Can you describe the problem in more detail? For instance, does it allow you to select the exe in the first drop down box or not? Or does the second dropdown box just not include the nvidia option? Screenshots would be helpful.
-
I thought maple story uses like flash or java. which in turn i haven't seen a way to change flash for like arcade games but i know java just add it to the whitelist.
-
You do not need a 335m to play maple! I played that game on a amd tf20 and x1200 on max settings! If you seriously want to play it on a 335m, look for the exe in nvidia control panel, and set it to the high-performance gpu.
But really, just use the intel card! There is absolutely no reason to use the 335m. -
LOL this is retarded, maplestory needs little to no GPU power, a 7 year old computer can run it.
-
wow, you guys do not play this game or know much about it from recent patches, do you guys? If you did, when you do boss runs or just being the the free market on the most populated server, Integrated Graphics crashes.
And to all the people who say just select High Performance, the control panel doesn't give ANY OTHER option than Integrated, it is unclickable
Ill add a screen shot later
Edit: -
Ive attached a picture
I mean you people probably don't play the game and are trying to school me on it.
And im already offering a gift to someone who helps me. So if you dont want to just leave and dont post.Attached Files:

Maplestory uses direct3d, so it should benefit from hardware acceleration.
Have you guys tried renaming the exe? (ie/to something like "stalker.exe" or "launcher.exe")? I find the problem a bit odd, seeing as how I haven't been able to find a single exe on my system for which I couldn't select the nvidia graphics card (worked on everything I threw at it, like defraggler, ccleaner, notepad, etc). -
i will try it out and i'll let you know. Thanks for trying to help atleast Roxxor
-
Confirm the correct exe file is in the whitelist. Run the game and ctrl-alt-del and check what processes are running. Once you confirm the exe file(s?) the game is using, try adding the exe file to the whitelist manually, even if it is the same as the one already in the list

You can go into the MapleStory installation folder, right click "GameLauncher.exe", and click the 'Run with graphics processor -> High Performance' option.
That's the only way I have been able to run it with the 335m.

Or maybe you could oc your cpu. My computer runs it perfectly fine with an oced i5, even while bossing or going on the FM.
-
Also renaming the exe does not work.
Ive tried adding every maplestory exe which also did not work. -

This is only a problem on the R2 right?
because R2 is optimus and the R1 you have to switch it yourself? -
yes it is a r2 problem only (optimus)
-
this does not work for me (there is no gamelauncher.exe on the european client).
has anyone else found another way to get the m11x to use the nvidia card with maplestory?
the intel chip puts out really poor FPS. -
-
and the cpu never even goes above 40% usage -
How to whitelist maplestory?
