Just curious if it will react like older games, for example random crashes, lock ups, not giving me the correct resolution options etc?
Thanks

I run battlefield 2 on mine perfect. Everything set to high runs smooth as silk.
I have logged 326 hours on bf2 since I got my m11x almost a year ago, never had a crash except when the 1.5 patch first came out and it would crash when you alt+tab, that has since been fixed.
EDIT: I have a r1 btw -
Games like BF1942 were made for XP so they work well with 7 but youll have problems in Vista but I doubt your using Vista anyway

how did you get rid of the lag issues? my ping jumps between 30, and 300... -
But I used to have random drops in frames, my guy would just randomly apear a few feet away from where he was. I fixed that by going into the power settings and putting the gpu on max while on battery and plugged in
My wifi card I tossed in the garbage where it belongs, installed a 6200 card.
I will say this also, you can play bf2 over 3g great. I used to tether my wifes iphone to my dell mini 9 (OSX powered) then send a wifi signal from the mini 9 to my m11x and her dell mini 10. I would play games and she would surf facebook. -

Weird. I run BF with no problems.

So..... anyone want to play a game of bf2 tonight?
I will be on weekend warriors wake island user name crap_you_killed_me -
Don't have much experience with BF1942 on the M11, but I had to respond to the thread since the opening question seems to imply that older games don't run on the machine. Sorry if that's been your experience so far, but from mine the M11x is an awesome machine for older games (started another thread on just that topic in fact).

I did the network throttle regedit...

I wanted to play desert combat mod again, so I installed bf1942 the other day, smooth game play, no crash, freeze, at all.
anyway, I run everything high for BF2, but I only play BF2 mod, project reality. -
I just copied the 1942 installation over from my old computer, and it's not running. I'll try an actual reinstall tomorrow.

Cool to see ppl still playing '42...I played that religiously back in the day. Used to play the expansion too (secret weapons of ww2).
I tried going back, but after Frostbite destructible environments, I can't -
I was looking for a download or a place to buy 1942 or even 2042. anyone know?
-
I bought mine at Wal-Mart like years ago. But I got it for my brother for his birthday. They had it at OfficeMax and Best Buy. It was like $10 or less at each place.

I still can't get this to run. I reinstalled, and I click it, it tells me it needs my permission or whatever, and the blue wheel glistens for a sec, then nothing.
Ideas?
Edit: Never mind. I discovered it worked under Intel Graphics, so I updated the NVidia drivers and it started working.
How will Battlefield 1942 do on the M11x?
