They fixed the "R1=R3" problem on there site. Finally I can get the default drivers and my SD card slot is going to be working again! :D !

Unfortunatly, in the process, they broke the drivers for the R2. Now, the site says there are 5 drivers available for me to download for windows 7 x64 and none of them are useful.

    Lovely....

Nevermind, guess their system had a hiccup. All are showing now. Gotta love it when they change things. Definitely a sign something is coming up.

Yeap, the R3 I predict, is very close to release. I wonder what's different. A Sandy Bridges architect i7?

but whether it's a worthy upgrade is still in question.

    more like 10-15%

and the GT335 overclocked can achieve the same speeds.
(just to get more life out of it) i wont be upgrading anytime soon.

yeah and that 10-15% at best is going to be equivalent to 1-4fps real-world. I'd rather save a grand and just adjust my settings a touch, or OC the GPU.

If Dell had any real talent in their engineering team they would have figured out how to implement something with a bit more oomph. I don't know whats after the 540M, but with a nice cooling design (perhaps ones that pulled cool air in the front and exhausted it out the back like what Asus has done in some of their systems) it could be done. The Intel chips run cool enough.

It needs a NONE Mobile CPU. Wouldn't a i5 2600(K) fit in there? And it needs to stray from nVidia. ATi would be a good choice. Also they need to take out the optimus. I rather use Hybrid. Optimus is more of a burden then a help. Also they need to make a better cooling system. The fan on the R1 sucks...HARD.

1 word as to why they're not using more powerful CPU/GPUs: TDP

    Chillax, he's being sarcastic.

And while I'm here, it's going to be exciting to see the R3 in action soon. Everything I done can and will give the R2 a good chance against the R3 so the difference is not so polarizing like the R1 to R2 shift.

Did you all notice the ability to upgrade your Hard Drive to a Momentus XT on the german site? Thats pretty cool, too bad they wanted 120 Euros for the thing. You can buy a brand spanking new one on amazon in the states for 99.00 bucks.. Thats like 69 euros..

I only see the 5 you referenced before. There are no M11xR2 drivers available today which is incredibly frustrating since I rebuilt the laptop last night and today I can't get the drivers to install properly.
