    G'day,

For Xmas my girlfriend bought me the MX11R2 Laptop, now she got me to mainly for gaming and at me saying that Alienware made some of the best gaming PC's in the world.

    My Spec's Are:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i3CPU @ 1.20 ghz 1.20 ghz
    4.00GB Ram (3.80 Usable)
    Nivida Geforce GT 355M
    Windows 7 Home Premium

Now, for some reason, I cannot play even Starcraft 2 at low settings without the CPU going above 100% and crashing the game.

And when programs crash, I cannot end their process with Task Manager, despite begin an admin, I cannot even end it with 3rd Party programs such as WinPatrol, or even through command prompt with kill commands. It says its killed but the process keeps running and sucks up CPU. This then refuses to shutdown because a program is running despite clicking "Force Cancel" and therefore I have to press the button down to restart which is not good for it.

Also I don't seem to be able to switch between the two graphics cards, my FN f1 and FN f6 do nothing, no screen flicker or anything. Also world of Warcraft is prone to the same problem as Starcarft 2 on low settings aswell.

Can someone please tell me the fixes to these problems, I feel really bad that my girlfriend spend so much money on a machine that doesn't even play Starcarft 2 on low.

Well, fn + F1 is for switching to an external monitor and fn + F6 is for graphics card switching on the R1. You have an R2 which utilizes the optimus software for switching the graphics cards and does it automatically. Make sure Starcraft 2 is on the optimus whitelist.

You probably didn't whitelist it. Or it's because you have an i3 but I've never heard of an i3 M11x.

Although the i3 is considerably weaker than the i7 it'll be at least on par with a non-OC'd SU7300 which can run SC2 on med settings. Wow does work relatively well on low/med graphics using the integrated gfx chip so i'm certain you've just neglected to whitelist your games.
