Hi, I just registered for this forum to ask some questions I was hoping you computer geniuses could answer for me :p

I was thinking about buying the m11x because it was only 599$. I'm going to give it 4gig ram. All I'm really worried about is the intel core 2 duo since its not sandy bridge which is the most recent best intel processor. I wish it was at least i3 to calm my soul.

So my questions are as follows:

    1. What is the r in r2? (I don't know what the r in the r2, r1, r3 is and it keeps getting thrown around in these forums.)

    2. When the r3 comes out, will the lowest configuration be around 600 like it is now?

    3. If I buy a r2 now will the m11x come with the new hinges that everyone is talking about?

    4. Is there any updates on when these r3's may come out?

p.s. I will be playing games like combat arms(similar to counterstrike). I like fps. Maybe some fallout even.

    All answers are greatly appreciated.

    1) r = revision. R1 is the c2d processors. R2 is core series processors
    2) doubt full. It will probably be around R2 prices
    3) I believe but dont quote me on that. Depends when it was actually made. Either way, your gonna be covered for it.
    4) All speculation right now

Couterstrike and fallout 3/new vegas run great on my r1.
If you get the R1 make sure to look up that coupon to get $50 off your order.

The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

so is that the r1? Because there is already a 200$ sale on that. So you're saying I can get a 50$ coupon? Can you link me it please.

So what are the r3 processors? Its still going to be core series right.

Yep, thats the R1 you linked for $599.

The R3 is going to use Sandy Bridge, the second generation of the Core i processors. Maybe even a new video card, but who knows?
