Seems that as long as I don't care about losing 1.5-2hrs of battery life the new R2 is the way to go. For whatever reason Dell's site is only letting me configure 4GB of RAM...Apparently this is a DUAL slot machine? So I can switch out the ram for 2x 1333 4GB sticks aye? Does this machine support 1600? What fun stuff could I do with it outside of gaming...Just looking for something to play around with, etc...Might get an SSD in it, is it SATA-2 or SATA-3? That would at least tell me the fastest SSD I could throw in it. Thanks!

R2 is SATA2, and can support 8GB, though I dunno why you'd ever need that much RAM in a netbook. Stick an SSD in there instead if you really want.

There's also the R3 around the corner to think about.

I've just noticed, and have got to ask: What in the hell are you doing that requires you to have twenty-four freaking gigabytes of RAM?

Info on the R3? Didn't the R2 just come out ...?

NVM: I assumed that the R2 was Sandy Bridge...Apparently not =/

Yes, has 2 slots for RAM. Yes you can put in 2x4gb sticks.

The ram will work, but not at those speeds. Doesn't matter what RAM you put inside, it will operate only at 800 speeds (unless you overclock).

Anything you would expect a normal laptop/desktop to do. This is not a netbook.

    Sata2.

No official announcement has been made. There's a speculation thread here.

+rep to Roxxor for complete, and factually correct info (i.e. Thank you for not speculating on the M11x R3, and stating only on the facts).
