So lurking on this forum for the past few weeks i found out that i am a really impatient person. A m11x began the process towards my apartment on 6/10 and i grew upset with Dell and Alienware for taking so long. It made me realize how truly grateful i should be that my life is so comfortable that i can complain about an electronic device taking a little longer to arrive than i would like. i do not want to sound preachy but i think most would agree it is silly to get so frustrated with the ordering of an electronic device when in the world there are

    1. People without enough food
    2. People without clean or enough water
    3. Homeless individuals
    4. Wars going on with people dying
    5. The Gulf Coast getting polluted with oil

So i would like to challenge everyone here to contribute 5% of the cost of their Alienware M11x to a charity, non-profit or church in addition to what you already contribute to. My M11x cost $1085, so i will contribute $54.25, haven't decided where yet.

If this totally goes outside the rules of the forum, which it probably does, i have to say i'm not sorry. There are so many problems in the world and for a few days i was just wondering "where's my m11x?" and it in retrospect made me sick with myself. I'd like to see the collective impact from people on this forum with everyone's generosity.

    Just a few options

    USO
    The Red Cross
    Gulf Restoration Network
    Feeding America
    Bread for the World

Note to mods; please don't ban me  i felt absolutely compelled to do this if anything just suspend for a few days if i am completely out of bounds because i like this forum and it won't happen again!

I get what you mean and I am very grateful for the life I live. Grateful that I can even purchase such a laptop and not even set me back. People who complain about the most stupid things need to sometimes stop and think about the people that have it worse.

While I salute your intention of drawing awareness of these orgs, this is something we cannot allow on the forum as its advertising/discussion pertaining to a special interest group.

    Thanks.
