For anyone who wants to improve the performance of this great game. Enjoy! (I'm not using it, so I don't know if it really works, and I already run the game smoothly on Ultra on my M11X, but maybe someone couldn't make a sufficient overclock... so here is the file which can help you to play on Ultra too!).

Skyrim Better Performance at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community

And yet, another tip so you can use more than 2 Gb on this great game! But it is only recommended if you have more than 3 Gb Ram.

Remember to thank if you liked it ;).

Wow no one liked it? Is someone using it? If so, is there any difference in the graphics quality?

Hi, dont know if my r3 is just being silly, but the gpu temp is going into 90 even with a laptop cooler and this is without an overclock on the gt540m. And thats just running skyrim on high, even then theres occasional lag, and its not like iv beasted this laptop. Any advice at all? Its all whitelisted and using the nvidea card for sure!

As simple as it looks , it's just something that will make the game run under DX9 instead of 10/11 ?

Sure , you'll get better perf and can go on ultra , but say goodbye to beautifull graphics effect no ?

Have you ever cleaned out the dust? If not get a can of compressed air and blow out the heatsink and fan area. My R3 runs nice and cool but after a month or so of no cleaning it can hit 90c+ and will throttle the performance.

    Try the new beta driver.

Dunno, but I bet this isn't the case, it would be too easy if true.

Strange...at the autor's page he says that it improves a lot the fps. Did you install this correctly? Such a pity...

Quite honestly my R1 is running Skyrim wonderfully. If further in it starts to slow down, I'll check this out further. Thanks!

No performance mod. BIOS overclock, no GPU overclock. Seems to be running great, even on high settings. I'm not very far into the game at all though, so maybe it'll slow down on me soon, but so far - very very good framerate.

BIOS overclock to 160 (stable), ThrottleStop set to 30/30, temps only go up to about 83 degrees on my R2, i5 with 4GB RAM and I get smooth gameplay at HIGH settings! Yay!

What is the >2gb ram trick? Also from what i understand there is no point in running TS on the R3. Did you see any gain from it?

well i did the updated beta drivers, throttlestop, and the 2gb trick at the same time. And you use a cff explorer and change the tesv.exe file to use more than 2gb of ram, and I seen it on the skyrim nexus i believe. Cant remember where though. Will try and find it.

for somereason after i applied this, the game no longer uses the nvidia card. making it unplayable. how do i get it to use the nividia. i have it whitelisted, both exe's, and i even tried right clicking the TESV.exe and choose the nivida card there and still doesnt work

I don't know. Looks like it is only happening with you, it is strange...try to uninstall, then first whitelist the game and for last use the mod. And if you aren't using the beta driver, try to install it.

For some reason this happened for me once in BF3. Just reinstall the driver and see if that works.

Is MSI Afterburner a good tool to use when OCing the GPU on the R3?

Try removing the Skyrim profile and add it back again. You'll need to do that after updating your driver.

yup, you COULD use evga precision as it lets you set your sliders higher than MSI but it's unlikely that you will reach the point where you need the extra slider room. Most likely you will reach a point well before that where you become unstable
