I just bought an M11x at best buy for 799.99

    Core2Duo
    4gig ram
    250 Seagate Momentus

    I bought an X25-m 80gb.
Opened the box, opened the back of the M11x.. installed the SSD.. hooked up an external DVD and installed recovery Disc ( that came with the M11x )... Did the recovery.. went to the store and came back and it was done.

But, it is missing things.. It seems to be just windows 7... Nothing shows in the search for ' alienware '.. I can not change graphics FN+F6.. or adjust sound level via FN key. It is stripped of the laptops software besides windows 7 ... I believe.
( Why wouldn't Dell include the proper full reinstall software besides Windows 7? )

I have not connected this to the web.

PLEASE help a noob.. I have no clue what I need to do with drivers.. first steps etc. I don't know what is missing.. ( Alienware software/drivers ).

Thank you so much for the kind replying ahead of time.. I am pretty stuck.

PS. I read about SSD and turning off system restore etc.. not sure what I am suposed to do.. Not sure where exactly ( or what wording to type in the search window on this site to find the answeres )

Any help would be appreciated : )

    Thanks again!
