Now normally I would never purchase anything from Best Buy do to ridiculous pricing. But I can get an m11x with the specs I want for around $70.00 cheaper than if I ordered it from Dell. The only thing missing on the Best Buy model is bluetooth. I was wondering if I could purchase the module from Dell and install it myself. I am not afraid to get under the hood but if it would void the warranty I would just wait and use a dongle. Since the last eee pc I opened up ended up with a stripped screw hole and a defective touch-pad.

    -Thanks

First off it will NOT void your warranty as long as you don't damage the laptop while trying to do the install. Second, it is an extreme undertaking to get to the BT adapater location. The chassis comes apart fairly routine so that's not an issue. The biggest problem I ran into was taking off the keyboard. The ribbon cables DO NOT have physical connectors to the board. The ribbon cable gets inserted into a latch system on the board which holds the cable in place. DO NOT try to remove the latch thinking it's a cable end. Just lift the latch and remove the cable(s). Once you do that you can remove the top part of the chassis and gain access to the BT adapter. I wish I would have taken pics of the inside while I was working on it, but the description I have provided should be enough to get you through it. GL if you decide to go that route, and let us know how it turned out.
