i know the diferences and i know that the 6300 use 3 antennas, it will work if i only use 2 antennas???

is it worth the upgrade from the dell 1520 to the 6200 or 6300???

I have the ultimate N 6300 and have noticed an immediate improvement in download speeds.. and there are 3 antenna slots but there are only 2 of them labeled #1 and #2

I also use the 6300, and it was simple to install. Yeah, the hardware that is in my R2 was sufficient to install this card.

Anyone have a quick link to that post that describes how to switch the card? I've searched but can't seem to come up with the proper keyword to find it.

    Thanks!

    1.Remove back cover.
2.Remove Black and White antenna wires.
    3.Remove screw,then remove card.
    4.Install new card.
5.Use 2 outside connectors for reattaching antennas. The 6300 has 3 but the M11x only has 2 so leave the middle one unattached.Reinstall cover.
    6.Install drivers and enjoy.

I changed out to the 6200 and did see some distance improvement along with reception. Be careful with the screws that hold the OEM one in. Mine were a little harder to get out than I expected.

My M11X R1 was freezing randomly with both the 6200, and the 6300. I put the stock card back in, no problems. I uninstalled all the wifi drivers, and installed the latest Intel drivers, still had issues. I put the same cards in my Gateway 7805U and Asus G73JH, no issues. Any thoughts?

"Random freezes" is a little vague. Are you browsing or playing games? Might just be a coincidence, and the problem is in graphics settings. Something to check, I once found a control panel glitch associated with the WLAN utility tool provided by Dell. If you uninstalled the 1520 WLAN, this file should be gone: BCMWLCPL.CPL. See:

    Hope that helps.

It was crashing under different conditions, even idle after start. I will try this fix, I hope it works, thank you.
