I upgraded the Synaptics driver to the new one from the site. It comes with Scrybe.
I'm pretty sure that's the problem but still I want to ask you guys if there is a solution.
When I plug in the mouse it won't disable the synaptics mouse even when I choose that option in Alienware Command Center. I looked in the Synaptics settings/Scrybe settings but I don't see a "disable" button within it.
Anyone have the new Scrybe drivers and has found a way to disable the internal when an external mouse is plugged in? thanks

Firstly if you're not using the scribe part then uninstall it! I wasn't too impressed to be honest. You still keep the latest synaptics driver after doing this.
To disable the touchpad on external mouse:
Double click the synaptics icon on the taskbar.
Click the device settings tab.
About halfway down that page select the 'Disable internal pointing device when external usb pointing device is attached'
Job Done! -
I don't have that option. It just says " profiles, disable, settings"

Weird, for the command center you went into AlienTouch and
Disable TouchPad when external USB mouse is attached?
Mine works fine with that. -
yup. It won't deactive when the mouse is plugged in. Do you have the recent Synaptic drivers from the Synaptics site?
-
What driver version are you running? Says at the top of the device settings tab page.
I'm on 15.2.7 22dec10... -
I was on that one but I rolled back to the one from Dells Site. it's a shame but I can live without Scrybe. I think disabling internal is more important.
Yours works though? -
i've never updated it though. -
Yup, mine works fine. I did uninstall the scribe part through control panel though...
Internal mouse will not shut off when external is plugged in
