Is anyone running IE9 with the "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering" box unchecked? I can't uncheck it, and the few Google hits I find suggest it may be a driver issue.
So, I have to ask -- are you running IE9 in GPU mode? And what driver are you using?
I'm at 260.99

Works fine with the Dell 257.30 drivers on an R2.

unchecked by default on my R2 unit. Latest Intel GMA HD and nVidia GT335m drivers

Updated to 266.58 and now it works. Bummer. 260.99 got better benchmarks for me.

Do you guys use GPU Acceleration? and will this kill the battery life?
-
Heck yea, I use GPU acceleration. Internet Explorer 9 scrolls soooo smoothly. My favorite browser (Chrome) now feels slow since it lacks this one feature.
I am typing this in Internet Explorer 9. -
I just installed Nvidia 263.08 hybrid driver for M11xR1
Prior to that I was using Nvidia 260.63 hybrid driver for M11xR1.
Fired up IE9.0 and bummer NO GPU acceleration. The box is ticked and greyed out. No option to change it.
So I enabled Nvidia on the M11xR1.
Box is no longer ticked and I have the option to use GPU acceleration or software acceleration.
It's a GPU thing. Not sure what IE9.0 is looking for, DX10.1, DX11 maybe or just a big girl GPU.
The option is not avialable using the Intel IGP on an M11xR1 as I observe it.
However you can manage it by using the GT 335M.
Not sure it's worried about which Nvidia version you're using, just the GPU you are using.
That said, Firefox, Chrome and IE and all banging on about updating your GPU drivers.
This is what I have found anyway.
