What happened between Alpha and Beta? Now it's going to require Quad Core i7's and AMD 6000's or Nvidia geforce 560+ for a MINIMUM? And they said PS3 is the FAVORED platform?????? WHAT?

Where did you get this info? Just google "Battlefield 3 system specs" and you'll find plenty of examples of the above post. Nothing about i7's (it says quad-core, which the m11x's ULV i5 and i7 do have) or PS3 being favored. Can't even find where you got the GeForce 570 thing. DeeVu has already showed that R2's (therefore even more so R3's) could run the Alpha at 1080p completely fine and, since the Beta will probably be more optimized than the Alpha, it shouldn't be any problem at all.

EA just released the info that PS3 will be receiving DLC and such at least a full week before xbox will be, much like what CoD has with PS3. And sorry, I meant to add in my first comment that EVERYTHING will have to be on the lowest settings possible to play properly. See Froogle's newest vid on youtube for more information.

It's funny because I don't even care about Battlefield 3 anymore, EA ruined my trust with Origin and especially how much it sucks.

Hyper-threading, so Windows treats is as a quad-core. PS3 getting DLC early seems to be pretty whatever, PC is still definitely the lead platform.

    Battlefield 3 Alpha - Alienware M11x Revision 2 - YouTube

Can't tell what specific settings are, but that still looks pretty impressive coming out of on 11-inch laptop.

I'm sure it will run well enough with tweaks, OCs and mods. I happen to still retain a copy of Stevenxowen's BFBC2 optimization pack so that's a start.

The ULV CPUs in the M11xes are still dual core. Hyperthreading adds 30% extra performance but it doesn't add 2 extra physical cores.

If I remember right, Alpha settings are default, you can only change resolution, no other setting....

Still people, don´t expect to run it like the videos or in awesome settings, the m11x is gonna be able to run it at decent settings, maybe console like settings, and for me, and for a 11 inch laptop, is great...

The nVidia Analyser for Battle Field 3 doesn't think my GeForce GT335M and 1.6Ghz C2D SU7300 is up to the game standard...

Oh well, have to wait for an Ivy Bridge/Windows 8 M11x :D

For those that still want to battle on, one should look at the new GeForce 285.38 beta drivers which have been optimised for said game.

I wouldn't worry to much, I play Crysis v1.0 on a P4 3.2Ghz (Radeon HD 3850) on medium and still enjoy it. So I'm sure as DavyGT said, with a bit of tinkering you'll still be able to play BF3 on an M11xR3.

I have my 4.5ghz 2500K and dual 5870 setup for this game, I CANT WAIT!! No way I will even try to run it on the m11x r1, Maybe the R4 or R5 will run it good.

I'm glad to see both my Youtube videos are getting their use. I'll be sure to get a good run through of benchmarks when it comes out BETA and Final. Unfortunately it will only apply to my R3 since they took my R2 from me.

I second this. Is there anyway you could upload it to somewhere like megaupload for some of us.

No solid numbers, but the Beta on my R2 (w/ TS, OCed to 172, and MSI at 506/1197/818) ran reasonably well on Medium. With some optimization after the real release, it should hopefully run even better.

Hope so, there are some games that need a mix of lows and mediums (like Red Faction Guerrilla) to run above 30fps

Still, all my friends are gonna get it in the Xbox 360, so I think I´m gonna do that too...

P.S. Is confirmed that to max out the game you need Sli GTX 580
