So I've been having some problems with video playback lately and image quality since the intel graphics are absolute trash. I was wondering if there is any way to disable the intel graphics as videos and images look horrible. Would I have to downgrade to verde to have graphics switching or what?

What are you watching? I use the Intel integrated for videos (1080p videos) and works great....

If your machine is having problems playing HD videos, something is wrong. The Intel GPU is more than capable of playing any HD video. Here's a little tip though, use the driver on the dell downloads and driver page and don't update to the latest one. It's garbage.

If anyone is having problems with HD video, I highly recommend using CCCP (with media player classic) along with coreAVC. Search google/the CCCP wiki for a quick blurb on how to use the two together.

Perhaps whitelist whatever program you are using in the Nvidia control panel?

To answer the original question, no you cannot disable the intel graphics. You can force programs to use the nvidia by adding the various programs you are having trouble with to the whitelist in the Nvidia control panel (as Oogar said above).

You cannot completely disable the Intel since the nvidia display output pipes through the intel in order to display the image.
