My extra M17x power source. I just tried it to see and it worked but I didn't want to use it until I found out for sure. Is it to much power for my M11x?

Are the output voltages the same on both adapters ???
If so, it should be safe. -
just to share what i read about recently on the M15x sub thread, Mr wattos seems to use the M17x's 240w PSU on his M15x and it worked fine, might be better since Some guys like the extra power to do benches

I wouldn't recommend it as it could fry your system up. Also the ampere might be much on the 17x power source.

If the voltage ratings are the same, have at'er.
Voltage is all that matters to a degree in DC applications. That being said, don't charge an 18 amp battery with an 18 amp charger... but in the case of a laptop charger as long as the voltage is the same you won't be hurting anything. -
Its not for the 11x, so my suggestion is do not use it with the 11x.
Be careful. -
Voltage and polarity must be according to requirements. No more no less/ -

There's an option in BIOS to detect unsupported/incompatible AC power and notify you. I have had no problems using other Dell power units and the only message I got was when I plugged in a 60 watt one it notified me that it my battery would charge at a slower rate............but that's it.
