Hello! guys the other day I saw a toshiba pc that had a cool feature. You can close your laptop and music will still go on the speakers/headphones. I wonder If the m11x or any laptop can do this or If I need a program?
Cheers

Yeah, just go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options and click the "Choose what closing the lid does" link at the left side. Then pick "Do nothing". Hope that helps!
-
But I mean Like Close it put the screen to the keyboard and still play music. Maybe I did not explain my self correctly.
-
Yes, what kfruit replied with. When setting the option to 'do nothing' on lid close, you will be able to close the lid and the system will not enter sleep mode.
Be sure to set the display to turn off after a minute or so or the screen will stay active even with the lid closed until the current timeout expires. -
One annoying thing, is the KB backlight doesn't shut off when the lid is closed
-

That just disables alienfx... (AFAIK).
Not as useful as having the ALIENWARE and KB lights turn off automatically. Front lights can still stay on.
If I wanted a nonautomatic system, I would of stayed with my R1 -
TalonH is on the money...
FN+Prt Scrn will disable/go dark all FX Zones. This is the same as selecting 'Go Dark' from the FX Tray icon. Be sure 'Keep Status Zones on during Go Dark' is unchecked.
If you really want to be creative, edit out the theme file .xml and tweak the individual zones.
As for having an Advanced action set for when the lid is closed, nope - at least not with this version of AlienFX/Command Center. -
Any way to have a function hotkey switch between two saved themes?
-
Not with this version of Command Center/AlienFX. Again, this would fall into a mod - perhaps Wattos as he has done the work on AlienFXLite.
Another alternative would be to use a script to essentially launch the given theme and then close AlienFX. I'm sure there are ways to accomplish this - you just have to research and test... Have fun... -
Thank you guys I'm going to test it right now Thanks!

Did you mean if you could play music whilst the system is shutdown? I seem to remember some laptops which had this quick launch function i.e. machine is partially turned on to surf net, play music. If so, I doubt this machine can do the same. Hope I am not barking up the wrong tree!

No, just close the lid and play music
My Dell XPS m1210 had that "mediahome" or something similar OS. It's utterly useless, since it's just an embedded XP install that goes into hibernate every time you "shut it down." -
My first post here was suggesting a lid-closed event for AlienFX Lite. Look it up. The author said he only needed to confirm that at least one other person than me would be using it.
Is it possible to Close laptop and play music?
