I am using my m11x R2 as a desktop replacement, it is hooked up to a 46 samsung. The problem I am having is that it's a 1080p display and I would like to use the 1366 by 768 resolution with it, mostly for gaming. Unfortunately this resolution does not scale to full screen, it just displays a small window. I can game in 1080p but is bogs down the GPU and 720 is my only other option. Does anyone know how to use 1366 by 768 at full screen?

There is a scaling option within the Nvidia control panel. I cannot remember exactly where off of the top of my head (I am not on my R1) but thats where I would start.
-
nVidia Control Panel --> Display --> Adjust desktop size and Position, I believe. That should do it.

That option is disabled with the R2 on external display, I believe all scaling is controlled through the intel GPU on the R2, external display scaling is also disabled in the intel control panel. -
If you're outputting to an HDTV, you're honestly better off with 720p.
An HDTV was specifically designed to handle "standard" input signals seen in HDTV environments (480i/p, 720i/p, 1080i/p). The HDTV will scale any of those input resolutions to the native 1080p res very well.
Some HDTV's don't handle alternative resolutions like 1366x768 very well, depending on the quality of the video scaler that the HDTV manufacturer used.
So, my advice to you is to just feed your HDTV a straight 720p signal (1280x720), and let the HDTV handle the scaling natively. -
When I use 1366x768 I get a small window centered as well. I use the LG 50PJ550 PLASMA (it says it supports up to 1366x768 input) but I got mine to use 136 5x768, only at this resolution (besides 1024x768) was it in perfect aspect ratio and full screen. Hope that helps
Edit: I cant remember if it was 136 0 or 136 5, better try em both. -
Agreed. It's not like you're losing very much between the two resolutions and could even look better.
If you're insistent, does your TV have scaling options built in? -
It's 1360x768. An LCD panel manufacturer can create pixels that conform better to square dimensions by using that.
-
Yes. HDTV's are specifically designed to accept 720p input signals (1280x720) and upscale them to 1080p (1920x1080). They were *NOT* specifically designed to upscale 1366x768 into 1080p.
Some HDTV's can do it, and do it well. But you're much better off sticking with a resolution that you *KNOW* your HDTV can handle (720p), rather than trying to engineer some solution to use a resolution that your HDTV *MIGHT* Be able to handle (1366x768). -
Yeah but mines a Plasma not LCD.
-
That is irrelevant. I was just replying to your uncertainty whether you saw 1360*768 or 1365*768. It was indeed 1360*768.
-
Yes, stick to the native resolutions your TV can output. It will be in the manual or the the online tech specs for your plasma. I have 2 plasmas at home, and everything you are reading about LCDs still applies.
Is there any way to get 1366 on external display?
